Landscape photography courses near Sheffield by Peak Digital Training. Photo © Chris JamesTo allow all participants to get plenty of individual attention, the course will be limited to just four photographers, with places costing £99.00 each.

This course is also accessible by public transport.

This edge of the Peak District offers a wonderful range of subjects – including waterfalls, colourful oak and birch woodlands, old millstone quarries, and natural gritstone outcrops. Since the sun will set  just before the course finishes, we should be able to get some great shots in golden hour light and at sunset if conditions permit.

Springtime Landscapes and Bluebells in the Peak District

Saturday May 10th – 10.00am to 6.00pm. Places available.

Saturday May 17th – 10.00am to 6.00pm. Places available.

Cost £99.00 per person.

There will be only four photographers on each of these intermediate level landscape photography courses, which have been timed to capture some of the Peak District‘s woodlands in springtime when they are looking their best. One of the features of this course is that all the locations which we may visit are very accessible – no more than a few hundred yards from where we can park our cars. The walking is also very easy (with one small exception which is optional anyway).

Please contact us to request a booking form, or if you need any further information about this course.

Photographing a ruined mine building on a Peak District landscape photography course. Photo © Chris JamesWe will spend the first part of the day in woods not far from Matlock photographing bluebells and other spring wild flowers, as well as the impressive ruined steam engine house of a former lead mine.

Here’s what our client Stuart said after a previous year’s course: “many thanks for a brilliant and enjoyable workshop last Saturday near Birchover. Your knowledge of the environment in Derbyshire is mind blowing and I know the rest of the group also thought so.
I’m very happy with most of the photo’s I’ve taken thanks to your advice and the pub food was excellent.”

We are able to park right by the edge of the woods, so very little walking is required, and it is also quite flat. There is only one steep slope (which often has some of the best bluebells – see the photo at the top of this page), but it is optional whether or not you decide to climb it, as there will be plenty of other bluebells to choose from! This intermediate level course is being held in one of the Peak District‘s most beautiful valleys. Lathkill Dale is beautiful at any time of year, but in winter the bare trees and abundant water give it a special stark quality which can produce some exceptionally beautiful images. The course will run until sunset, so it will be a great chance to experience taking pictures in the low light conditions using long exposures. The course is limited to a maximum of only 4 photographers, and places cost £99.00 each. Places available.

Peak District Waterfalls and Woodlands in Autumn

This course has now taken place, but you can see details of all the other courses we are currently running here.

Saturday, October 26th from 8.30am to 4.30pm. £99.00 per person.

This course is limited to just four photographers, and places cost £99.00 each.

This intermediate level landscape photography course has been timed to take advantage of the wonderful colours of autumn, and will be held on the moors around Fox House (close to the border between Derbyshire and Sheffield). The course is also accessible by public transport.

The course on November 18th features a whole day’s photography, starting just after sunrise at 8.30am and finishing after sunset at 4.00pm. As this is one of the best spots in the Peak District for temperature inversions, we might get lucky and have some mist in the morning.

This part of the Peak District offers a wonderful range of subjects – including waterfalls, colourful oak and birch woodlands, old millstone quarries, and natural gritstone outcrops. For those interested in close-up and macro subjects, there should be plenty of interesting fungi at this time of year as well.

Please contact us if you would like to request a booking form to reserve a place on either of these courses. Continue reading “Peak District Waterfalls and Woodlands in Autumn”
