Please note: this course has now passed, but you can find details of our next one day courses here.
Peak Digital Training is pleased to announce that we will be running a one day digital photography workshop especially for Nikon digital slr users on Saturday December 3rd. It will run from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, and will be based at a wonderfully situated cottage in the Derbyshire Peak District (see Peak District Photography Workshops – idyllic new location for details).
The course will be a mixture of practical photography outdoors – making full use of the wide range of subject matter which is available right outside the cottage door – as well as a demonstration of software you can use to download, view, sort and edit your digital images. It is suitable for anyone who uses a Nikon digital slr – whatever your level of expertise – and you will learn not only how to adjust settings to get the best results straight out of the camera, but also some of the advantages to using Nikon software with your images – particularly if you shoot in NEF format. You will also be shown how you can integrate Nikon software with editors such as Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Aperture and even iPhoto.
Don’t worry if you already use other software with your digital photographs – the aim of this workshop is not to make you switch. It is simply to give you an overview of some of the unique benefits of using Nikon software with Nikon cameras, and examples of how you could integrate it into your existing workflow if you wish. The course is being run by Chris James, a professional photographer who uses Nikon software for his work daily, alongside Adobe Lightroom, and so is well placed to point out the advantages and drawbacks of both approaches.
The cottage we will be using is in a location that our students describe as “amazing”. There is a fantastic range of subjects right outside the door, so you can easily spend most of the day taking photos if the weather permits. There is car parking on site, and you will only need to walk a few yards to get great shots. We will have a break for lunch, and you can either bring your own food or the local pub is only 10 minutes’ walk away across the fields if you would prefer a hot meal. If the weather is not so kind, we will have some computers (loaded with Photoshop as well as Nikon software) available for you to practise on – or you are welcome to bring your own laptop. All of the software we will be using is cross-platform, and equally suitable for PC or Mac users.
The cost for the day will be £95.00 per person (not including lunch), and the workshop runs from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. If you would like to know more, please contact us by email, or phone Chris on 01246 208656.
If you are unable to come along on this date, but would like to be notified as soon as we arrange other photography courses, we can include you on our e-mail list. Please contact us and leave us your e-mail details.
